Why Nani Rejected Lucky Bhaskar?

The film Lucky Bhaskar, starring Dulquer Salmaan and Meenakshi Chaudhary, has been receiving a warm response from audiences since its recent Diwali release. Directed by Venky Atluri and produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya, this film has been praised as a clean family entertainer. Set against the backdrop of the banking sector, the storyline revolves around Bhaskar, a bank employee who cleverly manipulates loopholes in the banking system to rise to wealth, delivering an intriguing and captivating narrative.

Middle-class families, in particular, are connecting with the film’s themes. Director Venky Atluri previously made Sir, a successful film with Dhanush, showcasing his ability to create engaging narratives. Initially, Venky approached several Telugu actors for the lead role in Sir, but due to a lack of interest, he decided to collaborate with Dhanush, proving his versatility. In the case of Lucky Bhaskar, Venky reportedly offered the story to a few Telugu actors first, including Nani.

It appears that Nani declined the role due to some reservations. Having already played a father in films like Jersey and Hi Nanna, he felt that taking on another father role might become repetitive. This led Venky to approach Dulquer Salmaan, who saw the potential in the character and agreed to take it on. The decision proved successful, as Dulquer has managed to capture the audience’s attention with his relatable portrayal of Bhaskar.

Given the strong reception and positive word of mouth, Lucky Bhaskar has not only solidified Dulquer Salmaan’s popularity in the Telugu film industry but also positioned him as a beloved actor among Telugu audiences. The film’s success underscores Dulquer’s growing connection with fans, marking him as a “lucky” addition to the industry.
