Kollywood star Vijay’s much-talked-about swan song, tentatively titled Thalapathy69, is all set to be launched today with a formal pooja ceremony in Chennai. The film’s regular shoot is expected to kick off tomorrow with a song shoot. However, an official announcement in this regard is yet to be made by the makers.
Meanwhile, Vijay fans are desperately waiting for Thalapathy69’s team to clarify the months-long speculations about the film being an official remake of Balakrishna’s blockbuster family entertainer, Bhagavanth Kesari. Since the Balayya-starrer prominently features the sensitive topic of girls and women’s safety, remaking the movie might help further boost Vijay’s political aspirations. However, there has been a heavily mixed opinion about the remake among Thalapathy fans, with many of them wanting the actor to choose an original story for his final movie before his political entry.
Meanwhile, it’s raining updates from Thalapathy69 makers. Bollywood star Bobby Deol, star heroine Pooja Hegde, and young sensation Mamitha Baiju have joined the cast of this prestigious project. Star music composer Anirudh Ravichander is composing the soundtrack for this H Vinoth directorial, while noted production house KVN Productions is bankrolling the project. The film is slated for release in October 2025. Stay tuned for further updates.
