With Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, Natural Star Nani is set to deliver another 100 crore grosser. The movie, directed by Vivek Athreya, opened to positive reviews from critics, and word of mouth is also encouraging. Despite heavy rains in AP and Telangana, the action drama posted excellent numbers. The box office performance of this Nani starrer braving heavy rains has taken the film’s distributor, Dil Raju, by surprise.
Dil Raju opined that ideally, there should have been an abnormal drop in the collections due to rains, but much to his surprise, the movie packed a punch with stunning occupancies. The film is having the best run in North America. The latest update is that Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is Nani’s biggest grosser in North America. As of now, the collections in this territory stand at $.2.05 million.
Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is Nani’s second two-million-dollar film after the blockbuster Dasara. Nani’s previous flick, Hi Nanna, missed out on the two-million-dollar club by a whisker. Had the romantic drama gone past two million dollars, it would have been a hat-trick for Natural Star.
Nonetheless, Nani has further solidified his position in North America with Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. With not much competition in Telugu until the arrival of Devara, this Vivek Athreya’s directorial has a good chance of touching 3 million dollars as well.
