Mirzapur As Movie- A Risky Idea? – Gulte

0

Mirzapur is one of the popular Indian web series on Amazon Prime Video. The show has three seasons and the streaming platform already commissioned the fourth season. Now, interestingly, the team decided to bring Mirzapur into a single film with a new story and treatment, aiming for a 2026 release.

Given the extensive fanbase who have enjoyed Mirzapur on digital platforms, there will be doubts on its success. People have already witnessed the world of Mirzapur in and out.

However, the makers are focusing on creating a fresh narrative. The idea is to retain the essence of the original, introduce new dimensions to the characters and storyline. It might be an impressive strategy to pull the franchise fans to theatres.

If this strategy succeeds, it could open doors for other Indian web series like The Family Man and Scam 1992 to make similar transitions. The challenge lies in condensing Mirzapur’s narrative into a shorter cinematic format, likely around two to three hours, while maintaining the show’s appeal.

The latest announcement teaser that the makers dropped hints at the plot revolving around the Munna Tripathi’s character. They want to release the film in the year 2026. The team is taking two years for the filming and they hope that the franchise fans would shower love in theatres.

Prominent actress Meenakshi Chaudhary is ready to captivate audiences with her portrayal of housewife Sumathi in Lucky Baskhar. The film is scheduled to make a grand debut on December 31, 2024. In light of this upcoming release, we had the opportunity to sit down with her for an exclusive interview. Below is the transcript of our conversation.

What was it like filming Lucky Baskhar with Dulquer Salmaan?

Working with Dulquer Salmaan was a great learning experience. Both of us come from different language backgrounds, so we needed to prepare and adapt to fully express what the story required. The team was young, motivated, and understanding, making it easier for us. Dulquer’s professionalism and humility are truly inspiring.

How do you feel about playing a middle-class wife in Lucky Baskhar?

I can’t always play characters close to my age; I want to challenge myself. I believe I can play younger and older roles now, which may be harder to do later. This role as Sumathi was a great opportunity to do just that. I observed my mother and relatives to understand the character of Sumathi, who values family over money. They helped me bring strength and depth to this role.

What makes Lucky Baskhar special to you?

Every cast and crew member knew the film was something special. The young actor Rithvik, who plays my son, always came prepared and nailed his scenes. The production team did an amazing job recreating 1980s Bombay, and the technical crew brought the visuals and emotions to life, making it feel 100%.

What did you learn from working with Mahesh and Dulquer Salmaan?

Both are incredibly professional. Mahesh has an impressive discipline, while Dulquer’s preparation, attention to detail, and humility make him stand out. He inspired me to learn my Telugu lines and always give my best.

How was your experience working with Sithara Entertainments?

It’s been a wonderful experience; I feel like a family member to the producers. After Guntur Kaaram, I’ve grown comfortable working with them.

Why should audiences watch Lucky Baskhar?

Lucky Baskhar is full of relatable emotions. Every common person will see themselves on screen. Playing Sumathi made me feel closer to my parents, and I understood the sacrifices mothers make. This aspect is a real strength of the film.

What are your future projects?

Money will come when I continue to work on good projects. I’m excited to be a part of meaningful films and to grow as an actor.

Celebrity Astrologer Venu Swamy’s comments about Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala’s divorce caught everyone’s attention in the media. The Telugu Digital Film Journalists Association filed a complaint against him in Women’s Commission. But, Venu Swamy challenged it in court and got stay to prevent Women’s Commission from taking any action.

Now, the High court of Telangana cancelled the stay and directed the Women’s Commission to take action against Venu Swamy. Upon receiving the complaint earlier, the Women’s Commission ordered Venu Swamy to attend the questioning. Venu Swamy played it safe by going to the court.

Meanwhile, the High Court heard the case today and lifted the stay. The court believed that the Women’s Commission has full rights to investigate the issue and take necessary action which is a big jolt to Venu Swamy. The High court further asked the Women’s Commission to take against Venu Swamy within a week and submit a report on the same.

Venu Swamy is currently recovering from the loss of his mother who passed away in the recent past due to severe age-related illness.

‘Pinch Me or Burn Me, My Face Is Not Plastic’ – Gulte

Nayanthara is one of the star heroines in South and she carries the tag, Lady Superstar. The actress is often praised for her glamour and a lot of times, she is even criticised for undergoing some brutal changes to her face to look ultra glamorous. Naynathara broke this myth in a latest conversation with Hauterrfly.

Answering to a question about how she prepares herself for a red carpet event, Nayanthara said, “I take the time to perfect it because it’s the real game changer. I’ve had different brow phases over the years. Maybe that’s why people think my face is changing and I keep looking different. Maybe that’s why a lot of people think I’ve done something to my face.”

Nayanthara went on to explain it saying, “But that’s not true. On record…not true. Not that it’s wrong. But for me, it has just been diet, so there’s been a lot of weight fluctuation and my cheeks go in and out. You can pinch me, burn me, you’ll know there’s no plastic in here.”

It is quite common to pass comments on the actors and their beauty but a lot of times, it ist just the natural changes that occur and they have to undergo massive criticism. Hope Nayanthara’s subtle answer to critics help everyone understand that at the end of the day, everyone has a choice.

On the work front, Nayanthara’s next films are Test and Mannangatti Since 1960.
