Amaran Dominates BMS! – Gulte

Sivakarthikeyan’s fresh release Amaran co-starring Sai Pallavi which arrived yesterday has become the career-best opening for the actor not just in Tamil, but also in Telugu. This biographical film about the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan dominated the straight Telugu releases.

While critics gave positive ratings, the word of mouth is also extremely encouraging. The movie recorded record bookings for Sivakarthikeyan on BookMyShow. Over 20K tickets sold on an average per hour on the ticketing platform, showcasing the excitement surrounding the movie.

Going by the talk and the way the movie is performing, Amaran is going to be the clear winner for this Diwali, as it will continue the dominating show at the ticket window for at least a couple of weeks.

The film is produced by RKFI and Sony Pictures, with Sreshth Movies releasing the Telugu version.

Recent Tamil sci-fi horror thriller Black arrives on OTT

Tamil hero Jiiva is a noted face among Telugu audiences with the films Rangam and Snehithudu. The actor had gone through a rough patch in the last few years. Finally, with the sci-fi horror thriller Black, Jiiva is back on track. Despite competing with Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, Black registered good collections at the box office.

With Black’s good run, Jiiva breathed a sigh of relief after facing a series of flops. The latest update reveals that this genre-bending film is available on Amazon Prime Video in Tamil audio along with English subtitles. The theatrical window is limited to three weeks since there were multiple releases at the Kollywood box office.

Written and directed by KG Balasubramani, the movie features Priya Bhavani Shankar as the leading lady. Despite a slow start, the movie picked up pace with good word of mouth. The movie is produced by S. R. Prakash Babu, S. R. Prabhu, P Gopinath, and Thanga Prabaharan R under the banner of Potential Studios LLP. Sam C.S. composed the tunes.

Bollywood is up for a fierce box office battle this Diwali as the much-awaited threequels Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 are locking horns. Both these films are hitting the big screens today amidst excellent hype. Singham Again is fronted by Ajay Devgn, while Kartik Aaryan and Vidya Balan headline Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

Singham Again is a masala entertainer, while Kartik Aaryan’s film is a horror comedy entertainer. Singham is a bigger franchise, and hence, trade pundits expected it to take the lead in the advance sales, but surprisingly, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is giving a tough fight. All India advances of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 starrer are higher than that of Singham Again.

Singham Again is also benefitted by the likes of Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, and Kareena Kapoor. Yet Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 showed a marginal lead over Singham Again in the pre-sales. This goes on to depict that horror comedy is the genre that excites Bollywood audience the most presently.

Though BB3 is having a lead at the moment, it has less shows than its rival. With the advantage of more shows Singham Again will comfortably take the first position regarding openings. As per trade estimates Singham Again will collect in the vicinity of Rs. 40 crores nett, while Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is expected to rake in around Rs. 30 crores nett on day one.

With Stree 2, Bollywood witnessed jaw-dropping collections and footfalls. Going by the current scenario, Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa are expected to create havoc at the box office. If word of mouth is good, the sky will be the limit, and let’s see which film gets the upper hand in the long run.

Kanguva is one of the most anticipated projects from South Indian cinema. The biggie, fronted by Suriya, will have a grand release on 14th November. The movie is directed by Siruthai Siva, and Disha Patani is the female lead. The team started promoting this biggie in Telugu, and in one of the interviews, Suriya spoke about Kanguva’s character.

He said, “Kanguva is not just a fighter. He is a warrior. Whatever happens, he will rise back and fight for his family, friends, and people. There is a growth in that character. Everyone will go through a complex situation in life, and how they emerge from that is very important. This is why Kanguva’s character is relatable and relevant.”

Suriya added, “Kanguva is a fierce person. But when it comes to his people, he is very protective. He will do anything to guard his island. Kanguva and his clan pray to the fire god. Even if the enemy country comes with 10,000 people for invasion, Kanguva will go to war with them.”

Siruthai Siva said, “The film revolves around five clans, and Suriya Garu heads one of the clans. The way Suriya Garu owned and performed the role is top-notch. He took the film to the next level by showing various shades present in Kanguva’s role.”

Bollywood’s busiest actor, Bobby Deol, is the antagonist. The big-budget entertainer is jointly produced by Studio Green and UV Creations. Devi Sri Prasad composed the tunes. Suriya will be seen in a dual role in this flick.

Recent reports confirm that the film’s talkie portion has wrapped up, with only two songs left to be filmed. Shooting is set to resume in December, and the makers aim to release the movie in the first quarter of 2025.

On the other hand, fans of Dhanush were disappointed when no Diwali wishes poster was released, leading to questions about the film’s promotional plans. However, the buzz is that the team will soon kick off a well-coordinated promotional campaign.

This Diwali release managed to enthrall audiences each in their own way. Though the other films like Lucky Baskhar and Ka got decent responses, Siva Karthikeyan and Sai Pallavi’s Amaran garnered positive reports in Telugu states.

Amaran was released alongside Brother and Bloody Beggar in Tamil. In a sensational feat, the biopic broke some giant records at the ticket counters in Tamil cinema.

Amaran created a new record in Tamil cinema for 2024, with the highest number of tickets sold in a single hour on the Book My Show portal. The movie surpassed Thalapathy Vijay’s GOAT record of the highest number of tickets sold in an hour on BMS.

Amaran stands top with the highest number of tickets while The Goat, Vettaiyan, Indian 2, and Raayan follow it for the year 2024. Siva Karthikeyan has grown from being a dependable and minimum guarantee actor to the star who is now in the big league breaking the records of Vijay and Rajinikanth.

Siva Karthikeyan’s Amaran received great response in Telugu states also. The movie is being appreciated as the best tribute to Major Mukund Varadarajan.

‘Sankranthiki Vastunnam’ – Gulte

The combination of Venkatesh and Anil Ravipudi was firecrackers with F2 and it continued with F3 which was equally enthralling. The actor and the director joined forces yet again for a comedy entertainer which was fondly being called #VenkyAnil03.

The title and the first look of the movie will be announced tomorrow at 11:07 AM. The title is said to be ‘Sankranthiki Vastunnam’ and the official announcement will confirm the same tomorrow.

Pandakki Vastunnam and Sankranthiki Vastunnam were the titles under consideration for a long time, however, the makers zeroed in on ‘Sanranthiki Vastunnam’, finally.

Venkatesh posted a glimpse from the dubbing theater a few days back revealing that 90 percent shoot is done with and started dubbing. He also announced, ‘See you all this Sankranthi’.

Now that Venky Anil Ravipudi’s Sankranthiki Vastunnam is gearing up for Sankranthi’s release, it has to be seen how more interesting the race can get.
