Suriya has been aggressively promoting his Kanguva and in one of the recent interviews, he was asked about Meiyazhagan (Satyam Sundaram). Suriya produced the movie that won the hearts with its touching storytelling.

While Meiyazhagan is liked by all and is being watched by many on the OTT platform, Suriya was asked if it underperformed as per Box office numbers though loved by the critics. Suriya disagrees to it.

The talented actor and sensible producer reveals his thought process about Meiyazhagan’s performance and its reception. Suriya says he is supremely proud of Meiyazhagan.

Refering to its Box office performance, Suriya says he made more than 25 percent profit. He also emphasizes the point that it is the producer who knows the actual numbers not the public. More than the numbers, Suriya says Meiyazhagan is an important film that he wanted people to come and see, immerse themselves and get cleansed and not talk about its money.

Suriya says the movie is a contemporary literature about how the present day people are living, the values, culture, lifestyle, opinions, bonding and ethics and there is no other film that documented all these in the recent times.

The Kanguva actor says he made enough profits and more than that he is proud of the film Meiyazhagan.

This Diwali is going to be very special for Bollywood since the massive multi-starrer Singham Again is hitting the big screens. The big-ticket entertainer headlined by Ajay Devgn also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor in crucial roles. The biggie is a part of Rohit Shetty Cop Universe.

This is the only Hindi film to have so many actors in a long time, and hence the hype is massive. Usually, with such a star-studded cast, it will be one hell of a task for the director to give prominence and sufficient screen time to all the actors. This calls for a lengthy runtime, but unexpectedly, Rohit Shetty opted for a crisp duration of 144 minutes (2 hours and 24 minutes).

Additionally, Bollywood Megastar Salman Khan will reprise the iconic Chulbul Pandey role from the Dabangg franchise. Given the compact duration, it will be interesting to see how Rohit Shetty would have balanced all the stars.

Interestingly, Singham Again’s runtime is more or less the same as the other films of this cop universe. The tight run-time could help the masala entertainer get better showcasing amidst the intense competition with Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

Megastar Chiranjeevi was honored with the prestigious ANR National Award by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan in a star-studded ceremony held in Hyderabad tonight. Chiru’s mother Anjana Devi, son Ram Charan, and several popular Tollywood celebrities graced the memorable occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Chiru recalled the infamous “Legendary” title controversy during the Tollywood Diamond Jubilee celebrations that took place 17 years ago. Chiru said he didn’t accept the Legendary title back then due to the dispute and added that he finally feels that he has now won even at home after receiving the ANR National Award from his guru Amitabh Bachchan and his friend Nagarjuna and the Akkineni family.

Chiru also recalled how Amitabh praised him as the “King of Indian cinema” when he was chosen for the coveted Padma Bhushan award. The Megastar further revealed that his mother, Anjana Devi, is a huge fan of Akkineni Nageswara Rao. He collected how ANR praised his dancing skills and the golden opportunity of sharing the screen with ANR in Mechanic Alludu.

Later, Chiru took to X and expressed his happiness and gratitude upon being honored with the ANR National Award. “Blessed and Elated to receive the prestigious ‘ANR National Award’ named after the Doyen Akkineni Nageswara Rao garu, in his centenary year, through the hands of my Forever Guru@SrBachchan Amit Ji.
