Imtiaz Ali is one of the most popular directors in Hindi cinema. He made his comeback with the film Amar Singh Chamkila, which features Parineethi Chopr and Diljith Dosanjh in lead roles.

On the other hand, one of Imtiaz Ali’s iconic hits is Highway, which had Alia Bhatt as the female lead. The film showcased Alia’s acting prowess to the world and was a super hit.

Now, speaking in an interview, Imtiaz Ali has revealed that he had Aishwarya Rai in his mind to play the lead role. The ace director says that he even approached Ash, but things did not work out.

But as he stumbled upon Alia’s work, he signed her in, and the rest is history. Highway had superb music by A R Rahman, and Randeep Hooda played the main lead.
