The movie’s teaser was launched yesterday digitally, but the response from audience is very mixed, and this is something that the team wouldn’t have anticipated. OG Vidya Balan played the iconic Manjulika character in the first installment as well, but in the latest teaser, her role was quite loud and over the top.
Manjulika’s role became iconic for the way it was written and performed, but movie buffs are now complaining that the character’s essence has been taken away by portraying it in a pale and cringe-worthy manner. Netizens opine that scariness is not felt in the latest teaser.
This is just the teaser, and we will get more clarity once the trailer is released. The opening will no doubt be bombastic, but it remains to be seen whether the makers can repeat the magic of the first part. The second part featuring Kartim Aaryan, Tabu, and Kiara Advani was a box office blockbuster.
