Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest film, Vettaiyan, received mixed reviews from critics and audiences. Released on October 10, 2024, as a Dussehra special, the film is directed by TJ Gnanavel.

During a recent interaction with the Telugu media, the director shared his preference for creating a prequel over a sequel. He suggested that Vettaiyan could explore Athiyan’s journey, revealing how he became an encounter specialist, Fahadh Faasil’s transformation into a thief and police informant, and other key elements of the story’s backstory.

The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, and others in pivotal roles. It had a pan-Indian release and features music by Anirudh Ravichander. Produced by Lyca Productions, Vettaiyan is a big-budget venture.
