Tollywood star Naga Chaitanya got engaged to popular actress Sobhita Dhulipala in an intimate ceremony on August 8. The lovebirds were all smiles in the engagement pictures that made a huge splash on the internet. The Akkineni family is yet to announce the wedding date.

Meanwhile, for the first time, Chay’s father and senior hero Nagarjuna opened up about Chay’s separation from Samantha and his engagement with Sobhita. In a latest interview with a national media house, Nagarjuna revealed that Chat was “depressed” after his separation from Samantha but is now “very happy” with Sobhita.

Nagarjuna said that the engagement went very well and that Chay has found happiness once again. The doting father went on to reveal that separation was not easy for Chay. He added that Chay doesn’t quite show his feelings to anyone, but he understood that his son was unhappy. Nag said that the family is relieved to see Naga Chaitanya smile again and also said that Chay and Sobhita make a wonderful couple. “They love each other dearly,” said Nagarjuna.

After dating each other for several years, Chaitanya and Samantha tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony in 2017. However, much to everyone’s shock, the star couple announced separation in October 2021. Reports of Chay and Sobhita’s relationship went viral around a year ago.
