Megastar Chiranjeevi was honored with the prestigious ANR National Award by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan in a star-studded ceremony held in Hyderabad tonight. Chiru’s mother Anjana Devi, son Ram Charan, and several popular Tollywood celebrities graced the memorable occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Chiru recalled the infamous “Legendary” title controversy during the Tollywood Diamond Jubilee celebrations that took place 17 years ago. Chiru said he didn’t accept the Legendary title back then due to the dispute and added that he finally feels that he has now won even at home after receiving the ANR National Award from his guru Amitabh Bachchan and his friend Nagarjuna and the Akkineni family.
Chiru also recalled how Amitabh praised him as the “King of Indian cinema” when he was chosen for the coveted Padma Bhushan award. The Megastar further revealed that his mother, Anjana Devi, is a huge fan of Akkineni Nageswara Rao. He collected how ANR praised his dancing skills and the golden opportunity of sharing the screen with ANR in Mechanic Alludu.
Later, Chiru took to X and expressed his happiness and gratitude upon being honored with the ANR National Award. “Blessed and Elated to receive the prestigious ‘ANR National Award’ named after the Doyen Akkineni Nageswara Rao garu, in his centenary year, through the hands of my Forever Guru@SrBachchan Amit Ji. Forever indebted to each and everyone who contributed to my cinematic journey and each of my milestones,” the Megastar tweeted.
