Oppenheimer, the biographical film based on the life of Robbert Oppenheimer (widely known as the father of the atomic bomb), was a massive blockbuster. Christopher Nolan directed the movie, and it nearly made 1 billion dollars at the box office, a stupendous feat for a R-rated feature film.

According to reports in Hollywood media, Nolan locked the script for his next project. A report mentioned that the legendary director’s next could either be a vampire movie set in the 1920s backdrop or a helicopter action flick like that of Blue Thunder. Though confirmation of the genre is yet to come, it is clear that the story is not set in the present day.

The movie will reportedly have Tom Holland and Matt Damon in the lead roles. Nolan will be bankrolling the film jointly with his wife, Emma Thomas, under the Syncopy banner. Universal Pictures will be distributing the film worldwide, and it is scheduled to open in cinemas on July 17, 2026.
