Karthik Subbaraj’s next release is Suriya44 headlined by Suriya and Pooja Hegde. The director’s recent comments about the movie shocked fans and the audience. While everyone expected Suriya44 to be an action film, Karthik Subbaraj revealed that it is more of a love story with action elements.
Karthik Subbaraj made an interesting observation about how films are being watched these days. He said, “I went to The GOAT with my sister’s son. He is an admirer of Vijay. He told me that GOAT would beat Jailer’s collections and asked me to wait and watch. I made him understand that he need not worry about collections. I clearly told him that he should only care about the content.”
Karthik Subbaraj added, “Even small kids are obsessed with box office numbers these days. I feel this is a wrong practice in the film culture. I want filmmakers not to enter that zone. They should concentrate on making good films. We need to make films in such a way that they should strike a chord with the viewers. If people get connected to the story and emotions, the collections will automatically come.”
