Choreographer and former Bigg Boss contestant Anee Master held a press meet in Hyderabad, extending her support to Jani Master. He is facing a POCSO case and is currently under police custody. In her press meeting, Anee emphasized her distress over canceling Jani’s National Award.
Anee Master acknowledged that Johnny should face the consequences if he is guilty; she also questioned the accusations and urged fairness, as the case is still unresolved. Anee shared her working experience with Jani for two years and described him as a good person.
“The situation is very complex and since the case is in the court, I cannot talk much. But, I would like to highlight that the same victim spoke highly of Jani master earlier and accused him now. I am confused at it. As a female choreographer in the industry, I have never faced a casting couch situation, and the accusations against Johnny are unsettling,” she said.
Anee also pointed out that Jani’s wife had requested a dance union card for the victim. Still, the card wasn’t granted due to the union’s rules and regulations. “It cannot be linked to Jani Master being the President of the association, and there are rules as to who should be given a card,” she said.
Members of the Dancers’ Union echoed similar sentiments, defending Johnny’s character and contributions to the industry. They opposed revoking his National Award, citing his 25-year career without complaints and consistent support for others. They urged that the case be handled judiciously and that false propaganda not be spread against Jani.
