Stree 2 inching towards the coveted 500 crore nett mark

Who would have expected a horror comedy entertainer to collect more than 600 crores gross worldwide? The latest release, Stree 2, fronted by Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is creating mass hysteria with its collections. Even in its third weekend, the film is registering mind blowing numbers. Stree 2 is now the highest Bollywood grosser of the year both in India and international markets.
As of yesterday, Stree 2 collected a little over 462 crores nett. This well-made entertainer will cross the coveted 500 crore nett mark in India either by Sunday or Monday. To date, only four Hindi films have achieved this record. They are Pathaan, Jawan, Gadar 2, and Animal. Baahubali 2’s Hindi version also collected over 500 crores nett.
Stree 2 and Gadar 2 are made on a relatively low budget compared to other films listed above. Gadar 2 collecting 500 crores nett isn’t a big surprise since Gadar 1 was an industry hit, but Stree 2 raking in these massive numbers is a sensation of sorts. This Amar Kaushik’s directorial has a fair chance of challenging Jawan’s record (593 crores nett) as well.
