Pan-India stars Prabhas and Deepika Padukone’s sci-fi mythological magnum opus, Kalki 2898 AD, was released in cinemas worldwide on June 27. The Nag Ashwin directorial has turned out to be a historic success, grossing over Rs 1,100 crore at the global box office.
Following the sensational success of Kalki 2898 AD, all eyes are on the film’s OTT premiere. Even as the film continues to collect decent revenues on several screens across India and abroad, Kalki 2898 AD has sealed its OTT premiere date according to the latest buzz. If the rumor is to be believed, the film will have its digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video on August 23.
While most Indian movies, including small and big-budget films, become available for streaming on OTT platforms within a couple of weeks or a month of their theatrical release, Kalki 2898 AD will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video only after two months of its theatrical release. The makers had an agreement with Amazon Prime Video to ensure a healthy gap of two months between the film’s theatrical and OTT premieres. This will surely allow the film to collect a little more in the coming days.
Kalki 2898 AD also features Indian cinema legends Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, along with Sobhana, Disha Patani, Anna Ben, and Pasupathy in key roles. Dulquer Salmaan, Vijay Deverakonda, and Mrunal Thakur make special cameos in this Ashwini Dutt production. The soundtrack composed by Santhosh Narayanan is one of the major highlights of the movie.
