Tollywood buyers betting big on Aug 15 releases; deets inside

This Independence Day will see three much-awaited movies, Chiyaan Vikram’s Thangalaan, Ravi Teja’s Mr. Bachchan, and Ram-Puri Jagannadh’s Double iSmart, hitting theaters worldwide. All these three movies are carrying a positive buzz among fans and trade circles.
As per the latest updates, Mr. Bachchan has done a decent pre-release business of around Rs 30 crore for the Andhra, Nizam, and Ceded rights. On the other hand, Vikram’s Thangalaan’s Telugu version fetched its makers around Rs 6 crore for the twin Telugu states. Lastly, Ram and Puri Jagannadh’s Double iSmart has done a solid pre-release business worth Rs 40 crore. Telugu buyers are betting a little over Rs 75 crore on these three movies.
August 15 falls on a Thursday, and the long weekend will surely boost these films’ box office prospects in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. We will have to wait a couple of weeks more to know the final I-Day winner among these three movies.
