The next big release from Kollywood is Chiyaan Vikram’s Thangalaan. Directed by Pa. Ranjith, the film will grace the cinemas on August 15. The bookings will commence today in major territories. The movie is based on real-life incidents in Kolar Gold Fields, and the makers are promoting it aggressively by visiting top cities.

At an event, Vikram was asked if there would be a sequel to Thangalaan. Vikram replied, “There is scope to make a prequel or sequel. We will definitely make the next part. We can even make four parts, as many storylines are associated with it. I am not joking. The stories will be different for the upcoming films. The protagonist’s look and costumes will differ for the other parts.”

Vikram needs a big hit to get back on track, and we need to see if Thangalaan can give him the much-needed success. Malavika Mohanan is the antagonist in this big-budget entertainer. Parvathy Thiruvothu, Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, Sampath Ram, and Hari Krishnan played crucial roles. Neelam Productions, Studio Green, and Jio Studios jointly produced this flick. GV Prakash Kumar composed the tunes.
